Penofin How-To Tips from the Techs

Whether it's refinishing your outdoor furniture, giving your storm door a protective coating or trying Penofin's exceptional line of indoor wood working projects, Penofin is the best way to protect and enhance your wood.

Q. How should I prep my wood for a light coat of Penofin?

A. Just clean the surface with a mild detergent and water, then rinse. Allow wood to dry 48 to 72 hours. Apply Penofin over the original application using 1û4 the amount of the application.

Q. Will Penofin bead water on my wood?

A. Only during the first 7-10 days and penetration time. Wood finishes with wax are what bead the water. They stay on the surface and don't really protect your wood from extreme weather. Penofin does not contain paraffin wax or products used as a surface sealant. Penofin's Brazilian rosewood oil deeply penetrates the surface of the wood, coating and protecting each individual wood fiber. Penofin is an "IN" not "ON" product.

Q. Is Penofin a water repellent/sealant?

A. Penofin is a penetrating oil wood finish. It seals the wood from the inside out, creating a Microporous finish that allows moisture to enter and exit only as a vapor. This prevents rapid expansion and contraction, and trapped moisture that causes mold and mildew - major problems in tumultuous weather conditions.

Q. What colours are available in the Penofin Gold Label Interior line?

A. Penofin's amazing interior formula comes in five tones: Dark Walnut, Medium Walnut, Appalachian Oak, Natural and Pacific Pearl Mist. Please visit our Colour Chart to see colour samples.
